Position Overview

Kiewit Offshore Services (KOS) is seeking a Craft Talent Acquisition Specialist to enhance our Craft Recruiting team. In this role, you will represent our organization by supporting KOS's recruitment strategies aimed at building a network of top-tier talent with essential skills and experience. You will be responsible for effectively sourcing and evaluating candidates to fill various craft positions (such as Welders, Electricians, Crane Operators, Pipe Welders, etc.) within tight deadlines.

District Overview

Kiewit Offshore Services, a division of Kiewit Corporation, specializes in constructing complex jackets and topsides for offshore drilling platforms. Our fabrication facility, located in a strategic area, employs a diverse workforce of 300 staff and 1400 craft personnel who operate year-round. The projects undertaken by Kiewit Offshore Services demand meticulous equipment planning, precise cost assessments, and adherence to safety protocols, resulting in memorable outcomes. Our team is a close-knit, dynamic group that enjoys engaging in team-building activities such as fishing trips, golfing, and sporting events throughout the year. Location

This position is based out of our construction yard/office.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for an international craft workforce.
  • Collaborate with Operations leaders to assess workforce planning needs and expectations.
  • Utilize knowledge of contracts, scheduling, and craft compensation rates to determine manpower requirements for various sites.
  • Maintain an advanced understanding of current and upcoming construction projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Talent Acquisition systems and processes.
  • Guide hiring managers and estimators on the supply and demand of the craft workforce.
  • Evaluate the return on investment of tools and vendors.
  • Ensure overall effectiveness in craft recruitment efforts.
  • Negotiate and approve contracts with third-party labor vendors.
  • Possess a broad understanding of union and nonunion craft management practices.
  • Train new team members and hiring managers on the effective use of requisitions within ATS and CRM.
  • Stay informed about employment laws to ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Proactively seek outreach opportunities to build a talent pipeline.
  • Apply knowledge of HR practices such as EEOC, FLSA, diversity recruiting, and interview best practices.
  • Design and execute local recruiting strategies across the region and nationwide.
  • Conduct thorough research on wages, housing, and fringe benefits as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in recruiting craft professionals (Welders, Electricians, Crane Operators, Pipe Welders, etc.) within the construction sector.
  • Ability to create, assess, and optimize workflows between candidates, hiring managers, and the recruitment team.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, energy, and initiative.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in recruiting, screening, interviewing, and hiring top talent for our organization.
  • Emotional intelligence to effectively manage emotions, communicate, empathize, and resolve conflicts.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in managing the recruitment process, including screening and interviewing candidates to present the best talent to hiring managers in a high-volume environment.
  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors applicant tracking system, LinkedIn, social media, job boards, Boolean searches, and professional networking groups.
  • Engagement in annual review processes, business planning, and adherence to corporate policies.
