Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist is a key member of our diagnostic imaging team at Intermountain Health, responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician. This role requires expertise in various imaging techniques, adherence to ACR guidelines, and excellent patient care.

About the Role:

This PRN position involves covering a range of shifts, including days, swings, weekdays, weekends, on-call shifts, and holiday rotations. The ideal candidate will possess ARRT or ARDMS certification and BLS certification for healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure proper patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for exams.
  • Utilize optimal imaging techniques to deliver timely, safe, and high-quality diagnostic exams.
  • Perform ultrasound exams on patients of all ages (neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) using appropriate protocols and adhering to ACR guidelines.
  • Demonstrate proficiency on all clinical equipment within the department.
  • Annotate and complete medically acceptable exams while producing maximum diagnostic information in minimal time.
  • Follow established protocols for medical necessity, coding, and charging; obtain consents when necessary; document events; maintain a current QC program; and report equipment failures or problems.
  • Exhibit good safety practices, including body substance protection, cleaning equipment, using sterile techniques, and removing expired materials.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including timestamps and image storage.
Requirements:
  • ARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry with successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics.
  • BLS certification for healthcare providers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in ultrasound technology.

This position offers an hourly rate between $37.46 and $57.80, commensurate with experience.
