We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Trinity Health. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

About the Role:

The Patient Care Assistant is a temporary position for employees hired into the Patient Care Technician Training Program without experience or training as a Certified Nursing Assistant. This 120-hour program includes classroom, skills lab, and clinical hours, where you will receive comprehensive training in patient care and support.

During your training, you will assist clinical staff in providing patient care under their supervision. Your duties may vary by shift or be unit-specific, but you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and gain hands-on experience in caring for patients of diverse ages.

Essential Functions:
  • Attend didactic and clinical training sessions and adhere to attendance requirements.
  • Receive training to assist patients with activities such as personal hygiene, bathing, ambulation, transporting, dressing/undressing, nutrition/feeding, and elimination needs.
  • Assist in delivering patient care with supervision from an RN, LPN, or Patient Care Technician.
  • Respond to patient calls and perform patient rounds to ensure a safe and tidy environment.
  • Be trained in safe patient handling techniques when repositioning, transferring, and ambulating patients.
  • Perform safety patient observation for patients who are impulsive and/or at risk of injury to self or others.
  • Assist with post-mortem care and observe and communicate patient needs to the nurse/PCT.
Salary Information:

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will have access to comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
