About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Highwoods. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Class A suburban office buildings in the Maryland Farms submarket of Nashville.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs and replacements.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of building systems and equipment to identify potential issues and implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to tenants and visitors, responding promptly to maintenance requests and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Documented training or certification in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, mechanical, construction, life safety, or roofing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Tennessee driver's license required.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to changing weather conditions and varying temperatures. The successful candidate will be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
