Laboratory Specialist

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team on Nights. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests/procedures as assigned.
About the RoleThis position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for managing laboratory operations, performing tests and procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Performs and documents test results, quality control, maintenance procedures, and associated corrective actions according to policy and procedure.
- Manages laboratory operations, including collections, sample processing, results reporting and distribution, and personnel direction.
- Interacts with hospital personnel, volunteers, physicians, and patients to ensure seamless communication and delivery of results.
- Complies with policies, procedures, and initiatives of laboratory services, the hospital, and the system.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in biological science or equivalent.
- Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT) certification.
- Successful completion of a NAACLS-accredited MLS program within the last 5 years or relevant laboratory experience.
