Covered California is seeking an Attorney to support the Office of Legal Affairs.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals with excellent legal research and communication skills and a passion for healthcare to join our team.

As an Attorney, you will:

  • Perform a variety of legal tasks in support of the planning, implementation, and operation of Covered California, with a primary focus on providing legal guidance to the Outreach and Sales Division and the Covered California for Small Business (CCSB) program.
  • Provide legal advice and support to the Outreach and Sales Division and the CCSB program, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support the goals and objectives of Covered California.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.

This position's office headquarters location is designated in Sacramento County. Travel expenses associated with commuting to the employee's office headquarters location are not reimbursable, other than authorized transit subsidies.

Working Conditions

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Covered California's current telework policy. While Covered California supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.
