Job Details

Job Title: Accounts Receivable Collector

Location: MN Site - Eagan, MN

Salary Range: $23.00 - $23.00 Hourly

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for maintaining our customers' accounts receivable, including collection of outstanding balances, and resolution of billing and payment discrepancies while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately process daily invoicing and post to general ledgers.
Utilize multiple collection management software for efficient and effective handling of assigned accounts.
Research account activity to resolve discrepancies, missed payments or credits.
Knowledge of returns process and ability to service as a backup for this function.
Daily use of excel spreadsheets for AR aging reporting and reconciliation.
Make collection calls to customers in a professional manner while maintaining and improving customer relationships.
Negotiate payment plans with the customer when needed.
Review aging of outstanding balances due and follow up with customers timely as needed.
Ability to collect on high profile customers with complex aging.
Research and trace transactions to resolve outstanding account discrepancies.
Ability to influence customers to pay outstanding account balances.
Collaborate with the Senior Management Team and Sales Team to resolve payment issues.
Work through rebate and chargeback transactions for top distribution customers.
Participate in month-end and year-end closings.
Knowledge and understanding of multiple collection systems to be able to issue reports and provide necessary data to management.
Assist with audits.
Ability to cross train in other functions as needed.
Performs additional, related duties and assignments as needed.

Requirements

Strong computer and typing skills needed, including 10 key accuracies.
General ledger knowledge for account reconciliations is preferred.
Self-motivated and positive attitude with customers, company, and other employees.
Good judgement skills
Able to solve problems - listening, offering solutions to customers while being mindful of company policy.
Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong follow-up, organization, and time management skills.
Experience & Education: 2-year degree or equivalent job experience (required).
Proficiency with MS Excel and Word.
Travel: None
Work Environment & Obligations: Office environment with minimal temperature variations and hazards.
