Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach to join our team at Nashoba Regional School District. The successful candidate will assist in instructing student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success, an increased level of self-esteem, and an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and scheduling a regular program of sports practices and interscholastic contests.
Establish the fundamental philosophy, skill, and technique training appropriate for student athletes participating in the particular sport.
Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted at all times that student-athletes are present.
Enforce good school citizenship and sportsmanlike behavior at all times.
Participate in the development of the budget and recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate to the particular sport.
Requirements:
Knowledge of existing local, league, and state sports regulations.
First aid certification and current cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Clear understanding of concussion protocols and the ability to implement them.
Knowledge of the activity being coached.
Working Conditions:
Ability to walk, stand, and run consistent with coaching responsibilities.
Ability to lift equipment specific to the sport being coached.
Ability to bend and twist regularly at the waist, knees, and neck.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary for this stipended position is per the stipend agreement of the Nashoba Regional School District Unit A contract currently in effect.
Benefits include participation in the Nashoba Regional School District's health insurance program and retirement plan.
