Senior Cognos Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cognos Developer to join our team. As a key member, you will leverage your expertise in IBM Cognos BI, Cognos Analytics, and Deltek Costpoint to deliver high-quality business intelligence solutions that drive informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Cognos reports, dashboards, and data models.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy through rigorous testing and validation.
- Utilize Deltek Costpoint, Vista Viewpoint, and Granite data structures for custom reporting.
- Integrate ERP data with Cognos BI/Analytics for seamless data flow and reporting.
- Provide excellent customer service and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop complex reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights.
- Optimize and troubleshoot existing Cognos reports and processes for improved performance and accuracy.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in Cognos and Deltek Costpoint technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in Cognos BI/Analytics development, including report and dashboard creation, data modeling, and framework manager.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in IBM Planning Analytics/TM1.
- At least one certification in Cognos BI/Analytics and at least one certification in IBM Planning Analytics/TM1.
- Extensive experience creating reports from Deltek Costpoint HR, Payroll, and Time & Expense modules, including a deep understanding of its database structure, reporting capabilities, and best practices.
- Proficiency in SQL (Microsoft and Oracle), with the ability to write and optimize complex queries for data retrieval and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels and convey technical information clearly.
Competencies
- Cognos BI/Analytics proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in using Cognos tools and technologies to design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data models.
- Deltek Costpoint knowledge: Deep understanding of Deltek Costpoint database structures, reporting capabilities, and best practices.
- SQL expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL (Microsoft and Oracle) for data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis.
- ERP systems integration: Ability to integrate ERP data (like Deltek Costpoint) with Cognos for seamless data flow and reporting.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.
- Employees work from home with standard office environment.
- Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
