Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our patient service team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to our patients and ensuring their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • ">
  • Obtaining accurate and updated patient information, including name, address, and insurance details">
  • Performing insurance verification on the date of service">
  • Obtaining patient signatures for required documents">
  • Uploading valid government-issued identification and patient insurance cards">
  • Filing and maintaining medical records">
  • Correcting registration work queue errors">
  • Confirming and scheduling appointments">
  • Answering telephone calls promptly and courteously">
  • Performing referral documentation">
  • Working daily in the claims edit work queue to correct registration errors">
  • Adhering to standards identified via Sparq regarding Optum employee policies">
  • Working cohesively with fellow employees to achieve specific team goals">
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by HIPAA and OSHA requirements">
  • Providing effective communication to patients and other healthcare professionals">
  • Notifying clinical staff of schedule changes">
  • Complying with administrative policies to ensure quality of care">
  • Demonstrating precision and efficiency in scanning documents and monitoring the fax server">
  • Participating in orientation and distributing updates as needed">
  • Completing new clinical competencies rolled out by the Educational Committee">
  • Collecting co-payments and issuing receipts">
  • Managing cashier box and daily deposits">
  • Processing walk-in patients and visitors">
  • Assisting coworkers as needed">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent">
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare-related experience">
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time to cover other practices">
  • Reliable transportation">
