About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Representative to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our Construction Services Group, you will be responsible for providing construction site field and office support and resources during construction phases of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply construction engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assignments and assist the Resident Engineer in partnership with the project team.
  • Maintain project data, including drawings and specifications, and coordinate testing and quality control inspections.
  • Prepare reports on construction progress and provide mentorship and guidance to earlier career Construction Reps.
  • Perform office management engineer work, including assisting with contractor claims and disputes, tracking and reviewing RFIs and submittals, and performing constructability reviews.
  • Inspect, monitor, and oversee construction field work tasks and activities on a project to ensure conformance to plans and specifications.
  • Administer KPIs and budget, read and interpret complex contract documents to ensure compliance.
  • Perform or oversee on-site material testing, review plans and specifications to determine material requirements, and track item quantities and prepare pay estimates.
  • Initiate field changes to drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents, and review contractor's daily construction reports for accuracy.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports, consult with Resident Engineer on work progress and construction problems, and act as a liaison with the engineer of record.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable of industry technology and tools used to perform inspection work, and gain exposure to new technology and utilize it to increase efficiency and accuracy of inspection tasks.
  • May lead daily assignments, mentor, and train employees, and monitor internal HNTB project controls as directed.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in a relevant field and 8 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Identify and resolve complex field issues/change conditions, review contractor schedules, and provide solutions.
  • Secure and deploy section/department resources effectively and efficiently, oversee document control for the project, and mentor staff and coordinate staff schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Professional Engineer (PE), or Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Certified Engineer in Training (EIT).
  • Trained in digital construction management software.
What We Offer

HNTB offers a competitive salary range of $105,000 to $164,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
