Aerovel Flexrotor Manufacturing Engineer Position

This position requires a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to ensure product conformity to specified requirements, support quality delivery on time and cost, and boost customer loyalty by achieving right-first-time results.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead manufacturing processes, procedures and workflows for mechanical and electrical aerospace products, aligning with company goals and vision of a 5S manufacturing environment.
- Identify and track risks and issues with manufacturing process quality, consistency and efficiency; prioritize, lead and manage resolution of these challenges.
- Create, release, version control and maintain manufacturing work instructions.
- Implement 5S principles in design of processes, tool sets, part kits and workstations.
- Maintain M-BOM, configuration control and compliance to engineering design.
- Design tools, fixtures, jigs and workspaces for efficient, accurate and repeatable manufacturing assembly and test.
- Determine in-process quality inspection equipment and steps required to meet technical specifications.
- Conceptualize, design, develop and fabricate static and dynamic test equipment for verification of critical features and functions.
- Participate in design reviews with design engineering, providing input where applicable for internal manufacturing.
- Provide training to manufacturing staff on new procedures.
- Supply manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
- Support new production and maintenance, repair and operations (MRO).
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve quality, consistency and efficiency; prioritize and lead implementation of improvements.
- Apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; confer with vendors; solicit observations from operators to enhance processes and environments.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
- Improve traceability of as-built products at all levels of child parts.
- Continuously improve processes with 5S methodologies.
- Ensure timely implementation of process improvements and general projects.
- Assume project management responsibilities for special projects as requested.
- Manage budgets, facilitation, timelines and change management for assigned projects.
Your Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing 5S methodology, standardization and upkeep of manufacturing systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, Bills of Material and configuration definition documents.
- Ability to author and structure manufacturing work instructions, define BOMs, manufacturing workflows, tool and part control.
- Knowledge and skills in use of and designing jigs and fixtures.
- Knowledge of process inspection and traceability.
- Knowledge of manufacturing ergonomics.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
Salary Range: $127,000 - $172,000 per year
