We're gearing up for the world's biggest sporting event in history – the 2026 Men's World Cup followed by the 2027 Women's World Cup. The products designed will be experienced and seen by the world on the largest sporting stage.
Job DescriptionAs our Expert Footwear Designer in Nike Global Football (Soccer), you will create industry-leading, innovative Football footwear design from concept to reality.
We're looking for a Design Expert who can help take Nike to the future. Someone with technical expertise to deliver experiences that inspire athletes and exceed their expectations.
You'll work on footwear designs that push the possibilities of human potential and drive athlete performance to the future. Explore new opportunities, take risks, and change the game through athlete and consumer insight. Build firm foundations to problem-solving around the needs of the athlete. New innovation in manufacturing and craft will enable creative and high-desire solutions people will love and remember for decades.
Your Key Responsibilities- Participate and present your work in informal and formal reviews.
- Collaborate and help build the design direction with the Senior Design Director.
- Lead and drive partnerships beyond the Design function (Marketing, Engineering, Development, etc).
We're looking for someone with:
- A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
- 8+ years of experience designing innovative footwear and other products.
- Experience in technical footwear design – Football product design is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of form, color, materials, and human factors related to elevating the consumer experience.
- The ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives.
- Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills.
- Must be able to build high-quality/accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs).
- Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus.
- 3D design program experience is a plus.
- Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project with speed and deliver impact.
- Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus.
We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
You'll have the opportunity to work with a dynamic cross-functional team and collaborate with experts in Color Design, Material Design, Graphic Design, 3D Design, Product Marketing, Development, Brand Marketing, Merchandising, Testing, Innovation, Researchers, Scientists, and Costing.
As a top-tier designer with deep knowledge and experience in footwear, you'll be seen as a team leader and mentor for other designers within Nike.
