Medical Imaging Specialist

About the Position:
The Medical Imaging Specialist performs CT scans and related procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews patient requests and verifies orders prior to performing procedures.
- Ensures accurate patient identification and provides support during exams.
- Gathers medical history and reviews electronic medical records for relevant clinical information.
- Administers IV contrast according to departmental guidelines.
- Evaluates image quality and consults radiologists as needed.
- Provides basic patient care and notifies nursing staff of any changes in patient condition.
- Assists radiologists/physician assistants during invasive procedures, maintaining knowledge and skills for a safe working environment.
- Operates the radiology computer system to enter orders and charge procedures/supplies.
Requirements:
- A graduate degree from an accredited program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB certification in Nuclear Medicine, along with advanced registry in CT scanning within one year of hire.
- Ongoing CPR certification is also required.
Work Environment:
This role will work in a fast-paced emergency department setting, requiring flexibility with rotating shifts, call backs, holidays, and weekends.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is estimated at $75,000 - $95,000 per year.
