Standard Management Company (SMC) is a private real estate investment and management firm founded in 1961 by Samuel K. Freshman.
We have acquired and managed over 6,000 apartment units and five million square feet of office, retail, mixed-use, and industrial space valued at over $2 billion across 12 states and 25 cities throughout the U.S.
Our investment partners include Northwestern Mutual, Kemper Insurance, Prudential, and multiple high net worth, private equity, and family office investors from both domestic and foreign sources.
Today, our current investment portfolio encompasses more than 3,200 multi-family units, 1 million square feet of retail/office and industrial space, and land for future development.
About the JobWe are seeking a skilled Leasing Agent to join our team at Standard Management Company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leasing properties, marketing vacant units, and performing administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leasing:
- Develop effective telephone techniques to engage with potential tenants
- Qualify leads and conduct tours of available properties
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the property's features and amenities
- Closing leases and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
- Follow up with thank-you notes and phone calls to ensure satisfaction
- Maintain market knowledge and stay up-to-date on local, state, and federal laws governing tenant-landlord relations
- Marketing:
- Implement the Resident Referral Program to encourage resident referrals
- Engage with employers, brokers, and locators to promote the property
- Develop strategies to retain current residents through service calls, events, newsletters, and other initiatives
- Generate traffic through bootleg signs, community referrals, and other creative methods
- Ensure the appearance of the office, amenity areas, models, and property are maintained at a high standard
- Administrative Tasks:
- Process rental applications for approval
- Complete lease paperwork and maintain accurate records
- Accept rental payments and respond to resident inquiries
- Assist in preparing weekly/monthly reports and maintaining guest cards
Salary Estimate: $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
Requirements:
- A high school education or equivalent
- Light typing skills
- Courteous, pleasant voice, service-oriented, personable, outgoing, friendly, intelligent, flexible, quick thinker, honest, competitive, assertive, detail-oriented, and organized
- Sales motivated and able to interact with various levels of management and personnel
