Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Estimator to join our Preconstruction and Estimating team in our Chicagoland office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing conceptual and detailed estimates for General Contracting work, analyzing project risks, and communicating with designers and consultants to ensure projects are fully coordinated between all disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop labor productivity, contingency, and escalation analyses
  • Develop budgets at early stages of design, relying on historical reference points and communication with designers and consultants
  • Identify, evaluate, and communicate project risks
  • Review projects for cost-effectiveness and assess value alternatives
  • Analyze the development of documents and estimate the associated changes
  • Participate in scope of work development and subcontract agreements to ensure projects are fully coordinated between all disciplines
  • Recommend a procurement strategy and manage the bid solicitation process
  • Lead the internal review process for responsible work
  • Assist in owner presentations
  • Maintain historical cost information
  • Aid field operations with change order pricing if needed
  • Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to maintain a competitive advantage for the team

  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials
