Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in a Cardiac Interventional Technologist role. This position requires a licensed Radiology Technologist with excellent communication skills and a commitment to complete a 6-month intensive interventional training program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administers contrast media into coronary arteries as directed by a Cardiologist during cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Recognizes the effect of pathology and vital signs to determine the amount of pressure for each hand injection.
  • Functions as a first assistant to the physician by aiding in the manipulation and placement of guide wires and catheters.
  • Applies knowledge of normal physiologic and electrocardiographic sequences of cardiac contraction and recognizes minor and dangerous arrhythmia.
  • Maintains adequate stock of basic interventional and cardiac supplies and provides supervisor with current inventory status.
  • Performs daily and weekly infection control measures and maintains all appropriate patient records and department check sheets.

Qualifications

  • Satisfactory completion of an AMA-approved school or Radiologic Technology program of at least 2 years duration.
  • Clinical experience in diagnostic radiology with a commitment to complete 6-month MedStar intensive interventional training.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification/registration.
  • Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or eligibility.

Compensation

$71.68 per hour
