As a Licensed Practical Nurse in our Cardiology Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting physicians, performing healthcare services, and monitoring patients' vital signs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKG) and screening tests to help diagnose and treat cardiac conditions.
  • Collect patient information and direct it to registered nurses or physicians as needed.
  • Prepare paperwork to complete patient visits and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Obtain and document patients' vital signs, reporting any abnormal results to providers.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Participate in orienting new team members and contribute to a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Review patient charts for appropriateness of medication refills, pend medications, and forward to providers for authorization.
  • Assist in the cardiac stress lab, setting up patients for studies, monitoring blood pressures, and supporting registered nurses.
Credentials and Education:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is also required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, along with completion of a practice nursing school program.
  • At least one year of outpatient experience is preferred.
