Kalamazoo Construction Management Coordinator

Owen-Ames-Kimball Co., an employee-owned company with over 130 years of experience in commercial, educational, and industrial construction, is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities- Support project managers in delivering program and construction management services to clients.
- Contribute to the development of design alternatives and solutions for major construction projects.
- Review and interpret proposed designs and building specifications to ensure alignment with required function and institutional standards.
- Document meeting discussions and distribute information to relevant parties.
- Audit contractor invoices for payment.
- Manage subcontractor bidding processes.
- Oversee construction budgets throughout projects.
- Catalyze material and equipment approval.
- Integrate changes in the scope of work.
- Initiate job close-out and secure necessary documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant field experience in commercial construction.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
- Able to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements.
- Fiscal management experience.
- Strong leadership skills, creativity, and confidence in problem-solving as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with sensitive matters.
