Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Princeton Community Hospital Association, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and analyzing clinical laboratory tests, maintaining quality control, and ensuring accurate results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and analyze samples in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Set up, run, and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures as needed, interacting with patients and healthcare workers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Complete forms and reports, accurately documenting findings and results.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to solve problems and interpret patient lab results, ensuring accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records, adhering to hospital and departmental policies.
  • Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to hospital, state, and federal guidelines.
Requirements
  • Associate of Science (AAS) degree in Medical (Clinical) Laboratory Technology or Science.
  • WV Licensure as a Laboratory Technician (MLT) within 90 days of hire.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
  • Experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols.
Working Environment

The Medical Laboratory Technician will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, interacting with patients, healthcare workers, and colleagues to ensure accurate and timely results. The successful candidate will be able to multitask, handle stressful situations, and communicate effectively with the team.

Physical Requirements

The Medical Laboratory Technician will be required to stand, walk, and move equipment, as well as lift and carry materials. The successful candidate will be able to sit for extended periods and work in a dynamic environment.
