Behavior Intervention Technician

In the role of Behavior Intervention Technician at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, you will work with students who require additional support due to behavioral challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with teachers, school counselors, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized plans to help students overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Crisis Prevention and Intervention: Work directly with students experiencing behavioral crises, applying CPI techniques to de-escalate situations and create a safe environment.
- Functional Behavior Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to identify triggers and contributing factors behind challenging behaviors, helping to inform effective interventions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Partner with educators, administrators, and families to establish clear goals, objectives, and intervention strategies tailored to each student's needs.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and review data related to student behavior, utilizing insights to refine and improve BIPs.
- Training and Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices and research-based methods, continuously enhancing your skills and expertise to better support students.
