Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist to join our team at the Federal Aviation Administration. As a key member of our air traffic control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient flow of air traffic at our en route facility.

Key Responsibilities

Provides first-line supervision to a team of air traffic control specialists, ensuring that traffic instructions and restrictions are initiated in accordance with established procedures.

Ensures that the facility is operating in a safe and efficient manner, minimizing the impact of heavy flight demands.

Provides training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates, facilitating team building and ensuring that the team is equipped to meet the demands of the job.

Integrates support resources with operational needs to maintain effective air traffic control service.

Reviews work processes to ensure that results meet the agency's mission and customer needs, adding value to facility services and achieving efficient results.

Requirements

Candidates must have specialized experience in air traffic control, including experience in a supervisory or management role.

Must have held an FAA 2152-FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least 1 year (52 weeks); or must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility; or must have held a MSS position for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility.

Candidates will be evaluated on four 'Managerial Selection Factors'.

Applicants who fail to address the Leadership and Management Dimensions on-line will be disqualified.

Evaluation Criteria: Eligible candidates will be evaluated based on EMP-1.14, Supplemental Guidance: 2152 Front Line Manager Selection for Terminal, En Route and Flight Service Facilities.
