Patient Service Representative I Medical Center

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative I to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Patient Service Representative I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical center's patient registration and billing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and Scheduling: Greet and register patients, ensuring accurate and complete information is collected and updated in our system.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits, and communicate with patients regarding their financial responsibilities.
- Financial Counseling: Identify patients who may require financial assistance and refer them to our financial counseling team.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and clinical staff, ensuring a positive and efficient experience.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff, both verbally and in writing.
- Technical Skills: Utilize our electronic medical record system, EPIC, to register patients, verify insurance, and communicate with patients and staff.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience: Typically requires 1 year of experience in customer service or clerical/office experience, including answering phones and assisting customers.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify and understand issues and problems, effective communication skills, and critical thinking skills.
This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, squat, and bend frequently, as well as twist, rotate, and kneel occasionally. The ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs. with assistance is also required.
