We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at GFL Environmental. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of our fleet.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our diesel-powered vehicles, including brakes, engines, and other critical systems. You will work closely with our senior-level mechanics and maintenance department leadership to ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues on diesel-powered vehicles
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as brake inspections and oil changes
  • Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation
  • Complete reports and work orders, and perform administrative duties as required
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve maintenance goals and deadlines
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience working as a diesel mechanic or in a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnostic techniques and repair methods
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other relevant regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and diagrams
  • Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
