Transportation Specialist

Job Summary

Abbeville County School District is seeking a skilled School Bus Driver to transport students safely and efficiently to and from school, residential neighborhoods, and field trips. As a key member of our transportation team, you will ensure the well-being and safety of our students, staff, and others while on board the bus.

• Safe Transportation: Safely drive a school bus on designated routes, adhering to time schedules and loading/unloading students at designated locations.
  
• Transportation Services: Transport students, teachers, and others on school field or activity trips.
  
• Bus Maintenance: Inspect the assigned bus daily to ensure it is in good working order, clean, and safe for passengers.
  
• Reporting: Promptly report any mechanical deficiencies, traffic violations, or accidents to the Director of Transportation.
  
• Communication: Ensure a communication device is in proper working order before each trip.
  
• Record Keeping: Maintain and submit records and reports as required by the district.

• Certification/License: Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL), class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsement.
  
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  
• Experience: Successful prior experience working as a bus driver, preferably in a school district or transporting children.
  

Works in a standard school bus environment.
