About the Role

At Soar Autism Center, we're seeking an experienced Child Development Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team. As a key member of our staff, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of children on the autism spectrum.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary caregiver, teaching new skills to children in a 1:1 setting and ensuring their comprehensive growth.
  • Engage children in play-based routines, transforming everyday childcare moments into opportunities for teaching and nurturing essential life skills.
  • Collaborate with our team to design and implement individualized developmental plans, upholding the principles of the Early Start Denver Model and maintaining fidelity to our care model.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, offering regular insights on their child's progress and providing guidance rooted in best childcare practices.
Requirements
  • A genuine interest and prior experience in childcare roles such as daycare, nannying, or similar positions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building connections with young children and their families.
  • The ability to work effectively on a team.
  • Reliable transportation to both training locations and the local center, with punctuality being essential.
  • The physical ability to sit, stand, shift positions quickly, lift up to 50 lbs., sit/kneel on the floor for extended periods, and occasionally run short distances.
