Experienced Advanced Heart Failure Medical Director

Sentara Health is seeking a skilled medical director to lead its Heart Failure Program, encompassing advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation.
Based at Sentara Heart Hospital, with satellite locations throughout the region, the AHF clinic conducts 10,000 patient visits annually. This destination medical center offers quality, comprehensive heart care from advanced diagnostics and imaging to minimally invasive heart procedures, heart surgery, and heart transplants.
The Hybrid Cardiac Operating Suite, located at the nationally ranked Sentara Heart Hospital, combines the best medical expertise with the most advanced heart technology available.
Key Highlights:
- 60% clinical; 40% administration
- AHFT program includes five transplant cardiologists and four heart transplant/VAD surgeons
- State-of-the-art dedicated heart hospital
- 5 catheterization laboratories, 5 cardiac operating rooms, a Hybrid Operating room, and 4 Electrophysiology laboratories
- Cardiac Advanced Imaging Center provides both Cardiac CT and MR studies

Requirements:
- M.D. or D.O, licensed to practice in Virginia, and board certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience, excellent clinical and technical skills, and a collaborative approach to patient care
- Proficient in performing heart transplant surgeries and actively engaged in comprehensive transplant patient care
