Job Overview

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare seeks a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. This part-time evening shift position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and patient-focused environment.

About the Role:

  • This position is responsible for taking various types of radiographs using different equipment, serving as the first point of contact for patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize markers consistently.
  • Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations.
  • Demonstrate overall knowledge of exams.
  • Produce high-quality films on a consistent basis.
  • Understand and properly use CR, PRID, ADC Multiloader, and QS workstation.
  • Write complete patient histories for radiologists.
  • Utilize PACS with few errors.
  • Demonstrate efficiency in work and time utilization, utilizing downtime constructively.
  • Assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure and make appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of accessing Pyxis, available medications for procedures, and understanding doctor verification upon receipt.
  • Practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
  • Multitask in several areas.
  • Acknowledge exams on a timely basis and completely.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an approved school of Radiology Technology.
  • American Registry of Registered Technologist (ARRT) certification within 3 months of graduation.
  • Certification by the State of Illinois to practice and administer radiation.
  • CPR – Basic Life Support certification.
  • Physical Demands Requirement: Lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull force up to 50 pounds.

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $62,000-$72,000, based on experience and qualifications. We strive to provide fair compensation and opportunities for advancement.
