Job Summary

HDR is seeking a Resident Project Representative to observe water and wastewater utility construction activities in the Wilmington, North Carolina area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction work is carried out in accordance with the project contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with general supervision from the HDR Project Manager to ensure that construction activities are carried out in accordance with the project contract.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of construction site conditions and activities, including significant events, issues, or problems, and communications between parties.
  • Photograph construction progress and catalog photos for future reference.
  • Produce required reports on Contractor's progress, quality, schedule, and budget status.
  • Review Contractor pay requests, including stored materials.
  • Work with the HDR Project Manager to evaluate project schedules and prepare status reports.
  • Attend coordination meetings and regular construction progress meetings with the Owner and the Contractor.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Computer literacy, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
