Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our C2BMC team. The selected candidate will be responsible for software development, analysis, and technical support of systems software products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, experience with UNIX/Linux platforms, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development of software products, including requirements definition, integration, and deployment. Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results with limited oversight and direction. Apply systems thinking to ensure developed products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end-user needs. Communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives. Limited travel may be required to support program needs.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience, or 0 years of experience with a PhD. Hands-on experience developing Java applications in a UNIX/Linux platform environment. Experience developing software in a structured, process-based integrated team environment. Experience with git/gitlab, eclipse, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, automated unit testing frameworks. Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as system requirements, Use Cases and SysML diagrams. Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs. A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense concepts and Command and Control systems. Command and control system application development. Radar functionality and radar control. Experience with Software Integration testing. Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance, identify root cause and recommend a solution. A current active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
