About the Role:

The Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) provides direct patient care in a critical care setting, working in conjunction with a provider team consisting of pulmonary critical-care physicians and other APCs. This dynamic role requires the ability to perform common urgent procedures such as central line placements and endotracheal intubation.

The APC will work a 7-on/7-off schedule with rotating days and nights. Prior experience in critical care is preferred, but additional training will be provided for the right candidate.


Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Obtaining and recording medical histories;
  • Performing physical examinations, including rectal and pelvic exams as appropriate;
  • Ordering, conducting, and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including laboratory tests, radiographic tests, and EKGs;
  • Formulating diagnoses and identifying and prescribing appropriate pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic interventions;
  • Educating and counseling patients and families based on diagnosis and making appropriate referrals as needed;

The APC will also be expected to meet performance standards, providing care that achieves optimal individual patient outcomes and meets performance metrics, while demonstrating a commitment to community-based care.


Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A degree from an approved FNP or PA program;
  • A Texas license;
  • National Board Certification;
  • Active BLS and ACLS certifications;

Previous experience in critical care is preferred, but the organization is willing to provide additional training for the right candidate.

The hourly pay range for this role is $57.96 - $73.40, with a competitive salary, excellent benefits, sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, and CME reimbursement for continuing education, licensure, and certification.
