Job Summary

As a Certified Surgical Technologist at Sentara, you will play a vital role in the peri-operative environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated and comprehensive care. This position requires a trade school graduate with surgical technologist training or equivalent experience. Virginia Surgical Techs must be licensed with the VBOM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement a plan of care for a specific patient population.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate comprehensive care.
  • May substitute training in operating room procedures from military or vocational training.

Requirements:

  • TS - Trade School Graduate: Surgical Technologist (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Certifications - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
  • Licensed Surgical Technologist - State license - North Carolina
  • Licensed Surgical Technologist - State license - Other/National
  • Ventricular Assist Device Certification (VAD-C) - Certification - ICCAC Operating Room
