About the Job:

Aya Locums is seeking a skilled Gastroenterology Physician to join our team in a locum tenens capacity. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Gastroenterology Physician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of digestive system disorders in adults and potentially children. Your duties will include conducting comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, performing endoscopic procedures, developing and implementing treatment plans, and managing chronic digestive conditions. You will also collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care and educate patients on digestive health and disease prevention.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school, as well as residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Fellowship training in gastroenterology may be preferred depending on the position. You will also need to be board certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA and have an active and unrestricted medical license in Illinois. A minimum of one year of experience providing gastroenterology care in a clinical or hospital setting is also required.
