Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at Fresenius Medical Center. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our direct patient care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to direct patient care staff, including informal feedback and formal performance evaluations.
  • Participate in department staffing and make recommendations for hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with company and facility policies, as well as regulations set forth by state and federal agencies.
  • Approve or disapprove time or personnel schedule changes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Participate in patient care plan meetings and maintain knowledge of current practices related to dialysis.
  • Train and orient staff as necessary, and promote efficient use of medical supplies.
  • Attend and participate in monthly Quality Assurance meetings, and assist with special projects or other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
  • Registered and licensed to practice in the applicable State
  • Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience, plus 6 months of specialized experience providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients
  • Medical/surgical nursing preferred, with supervisory or management experience
  • Certified in CPR or successfully complete course in CPR certification
  • Good communication skills – verbal and written
