Technical Sales Leader for Precast Concrete Solutions

South Shaftsbury, Vermont, United States Peckham Industries Full time

At Peckham Industries, we believe in delivering value to our customers through exceptional service and high-quality products. As a family-run business since 1924, we have established a strong reputation as a trusted supplier of construction materials and services in the communities we serve.

We operate an extensive network of hot mix asphalt and ready-mix concrete plants, quarries, and liquid asphalt terminals that enable us to deliver the highest quality materials and custom solutions to thousands of road construction and maintenance customers. In addition, our construction operations include paving and road reclamation services, precast/prestressed concrete production, and erection of multi-level parking structures, specialty buildings, and bridge components.

If you are passionate about growing revenue in targeted structural concrete markets, we invite you to join our team as a Technical Sales Leader for Precast Concrete Solutions. This is a remote-based position within the New England region and may require routine travel within the NY/NJ market.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop relationships with developers, general contractors, owners, and architects to optimize use of precast/prestressed concrete in design and grow the revenue line for the business. You will participate in the development of strategic sales plans to meet/exceed sales revenue and profit targets and all corporate goals.

To achieve this, you will target and acquire new projects by building strong relationships with existing and new customers. Pre-sales account identification (targeted clients) will be key to your success, along with the ability to articulate the value Peckham brings to owners and contractors.

You will work closely with the project development and estimating team to optimize projects for customers through value engineering, resulting in higher profit potentials. As a technical expert in design, you will lead and review work of technical sub-subcontractors and experts within the discipline.

Leading engagement/business development strategies with industry constituents, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, will be crucial to your success. Conceptual input to fill in design gaps for incomplete documents will also be required for estimate completion.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management is required, along with 5-10 years of increasing responsibilities in a precast/prestressed technical sales role or related experience. Familiarity with IBC building codes, PCI, and ACI design requirements is essential for effective communication with designers, estimators, and project leadership.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, internal and external stakeholder management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are necessary for success in this role. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or BIM experience is preferred.

This is a full-time position with an estimated salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits. Travel may be up to 50% of the time, primarily by personal vehicle to job sites and offices throughout New York and New Jersey.
