About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Legrand North America. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for our electrical and digital building infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop custom-configured cabinet assemblies for our Data Center Power & Control Division.
  • Develop Bills of Material and set component routings in our ERP system.
  • Evaluate customer requirements outlined in sales documents and estimate engineering lead time required for all projects.
  • Create 3D CAD assembly files from existing CAD models of previously designed components and accessories, configured per customer requirements.
  • Design custom accessories in accordance with the EIA-310 standards.
  • Design manufacturing fixtures as defined by project requirements.
  • Create detailed part, weldment and assembly drawings and write and process ECNs.
  • Create complete product structures with routings for entire manufacturing package in our ERP system.
  • Interface directly with all areas of production to support the progress and completion of projects.
  • Support production team in troubleshooting issues.
  • Interface directly with regulatory agencies such as UL and assist in testing.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering; Masters in Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sheet metal-based product fabrication methods is required.
