Job Title: Recovery Coach

Job Summary:

Elwyn is seeking a Recovery Coach to join our team. The Recovery Coach will work with individuals to promote empowerment and recovery from addictions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of addiction recovery and be able to provide support and guidance to individuals in their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage individuals in non-directive and supportive relationships to promote empowerment and recovery from addictions.
  • Assist individuals in identifying meaningful goals for their Individual Action Plan/Treatment Plan.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Individualized Action Plans (IAPs)/Treatments, per Program Regulation.
  • Practice a trauma-informed approach to treatment planning and service delivery.
  • Work with individuals through life transitions and collaborate with the individual and Integrated Team to develop the Crisis Management Plan.
  • Promote integrated services that meet the complex needs of individuals' recovery goals.
  • Develop interventions that encompass all individuals' life domains, including physical and psychological wellness, activities of daily living, safe housing, interpersonal skills and relationship building, employment and community connectedness, cultural and spiritual, and arts and wellness.
  • Facilitate peer-led activities, empowering enrolled individuals to take a lead in the planning and implementation process.
  • Develop, in conjunction with peer-led groups, information related to wellness and recovery.
  • Engage in non-judgmental, compassionate active listening and share personal recovery experiences to build peer relationships.
  • Provide peer counseling, support, and education to validate individuals' life experiences.
  • Work with individuals to identify and utilize preferred recovery tools and self-care techniques.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Encourage individuals to use and involve themselves in the Recovery Learning Community, where applicable.
  • Support participation in individuals' self-help and advocacy organizations that promote recovery.
  • Provide training and consultation to the team to facilitate understanding of individuals' perspectives and protection of individuals' rights.
  • Peer encourages ongoing engagement and involvement of family members in all phases of service delivery and evaluation based on the desires of the individual, this may include ensuring family members understand the individual's illness/addiction, the service delivery model, the roles and functions of the Individual's Team members/Intensive GLE staff and how to contact them, and how the family will be supported.
  • Maintain clinical documentation/records that is clear and concise, reflecting individuals' preferences, needs, and recovery, and in compliance with FHR/DMH policies and procedures as well as CARF standards.

Requirements:

  • High School Equivalency required, AA or BA in Human Service field preferred.
  • Must possess lived experience (defined as having suffered from an addiction) and one year of addictions recovery is required. Crisis Intervention experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions.
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication.
  • Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record.
