Lifeline Connections, a renowned community-based behavioral health organization, seeks a dedicated Community-Based Recovery Coach to join its team. As a premier provider of substance use and mental health services in the Pacific Northwest, we are committed to delivering compassionate and confidential care to individuals affected by these conditions.

The ideal candidate will possess certification as a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) consistent with WAC 246-341, or be willing to obtain it within 60 days of employment. They should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be in successful recovery for at least one year, or have a family member with a substance use disorder.

About the Role:

  • Provide peer counseling and support to patients, drawing on common experiences as a peer, to validate their experiences and encourage them to take responsibility for their recovery.
  • Serve as a mentor to patients, promoting hope and empowerment in their lives.
  • Act as an interpreter to assist team members without lived experience to better understand and empathize with each patient's unique perspective.
  • Collaborate with the team to promote a culture that recognizes, understands, and respects each patient's point of view, experiences, and preferences.
  • Help patients identify, understand, and combat stigma and discrimination associated with substance use and mental health conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver community-based peer support services to patients with diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the treatment team to implement and deliver treatment services that meet the complex needs of patients.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, significant others, and community agencies.
  • Participate in staff development activities, including training and retreats.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a CPSS consistent with WAC 246-341, or ability to obtain it within 60 days of employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful recovery for at least one year, or have a family member with a substance use disorder.
  • Current Washington State Department of Health agency-affiliated credentials.
  • Familiarity with Washington State regulations related to mental health and substance use services.
  • Valid driver's license and current car insurance.
