Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sales, use, and property tax return data, working under the supervision of senior team members to ensure timely completion and filing of returns, as well as timely payment of tax.
  • Research relevant sales and use tax issues and collaborate with supervisors to develop responses to tax authority inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tax exemption certificates.
  • Support supervisors in ensuring timely filing of domestic business license applications with local jurisdictions and payment of associated fees, working closely with the Tempur Treasury team.
  • Provide data for annual reports and state business registration, ensuring timely filing with the appropriate state and local jurisdictions.
  • Prepare basic and mid-level complexity income tax returns and extensions, collaborating with the Tax department and Treasury group to facilitate timely payment of income tax.
  • Assist supervisors with audits and projects.
  • Support the pursuit of tax credits and incentives.
  • Provide state tax information to other departments within the company, subject to review by supervisors.
  • Maintain tax basis depreciation schedules on a quarterly basis and calculate deductible charitable contributions.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly income tax provisions, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferably in Accounting)
  • CPA and/or MBA, a plus
  • Limited domestic travel may be required
