Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in our residential program. As a Medical Assistant at Growth Centers of America, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals every day in their journey of recovery.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide primary care for adolescents aged 12-17 who struggle with mental health issues, eating disorders, and/or substance abuse.
  • Support group therapists and academic liaison during group and school time; administer medications to clients and document administration.
  • Take vital signs, including blood pressure, height, weight, drug screen, body check, etc., at intake.
  • Document vitals daily, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
  • Obtain and document client weight weekly.
  • Work with the Psychiatrist to ensure medication changes occur in accordance with medication management policy.
  • Update and maintain medication management system logs daily as required.
  • Submit detailed notes for each client, including daily fitness, food diaries, and 12-step meeting attendance.
  • Facilitate facility scheduling and coverage.
Requirements
  • Pass a Fingerprinting Background Clearance.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Proven track record of supervising and leading teams, achieving results.
  • Medical Assistant Certification (preferred).
  • Experience working with adolescents aged 12-17 years old.
  • Crisis management skills.
  • Knowledge of psychopathology and dual diagnosis (preferred).
