Civil Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Manager to join our Land Development team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Minnetonka or St. Cloud, MN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage land development civil engineering projects efficiently, meeting schedules and budgets.
  • Lead land development civil teams to produce high-quality plan sets.
  • Effectively manage internal support teams, including survey, traffic, hydrology, and hydraulics, to communicate and manage technical details, schedules, and budgets.
  • Implement a QA/QC program and ensure compliance within the project team.
  • Work with City/County staff for approval of project plans.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and allocate resources through different project stages.
  • Administer the construction services portions of projects, including RFI response, site meetings with contractors, and more.
  • Effectively manage up to five assigned technical personnel, including assigning and overseeing project assignments, reviewing work for accuracy and completeness, training staff, and promoting professional development.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate competence in fundamental civil engineering design principles for land development projects.
  • Experience in cost estimating, bid phase assistance, construction administration, and general construction methods.
  • Proficiency with current computer-aided design (CAD/Civil 3D) and production software, with the ability to learn new versions or technology.
  • Minimum of eight years of total experience, with four years as a Project Manager (or equivalent).
  • Graduate from an accredited university or college with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working with clients in the residential markets.
