Job Summary
The District of Columbia Bar seeks a skilled Forensic Investigator to support its attorneys in investigating and prosecuting ethical complaints. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the Disciplinary Counsel to identify information needed by attorneys and prepare investigative plans showing potential sources of information.

Key Responsibilities
• Identify relevant information needed by attorneys to prosecute alleged misconduct.
• Develop and implement effective investigative plans, including gathering evidence from various sources.
• Conduct interviews with witnesses, respondents, and other relevant parties, ensuring thorough understanding of the situation.
• Prepare and obtain signed witness statements, as well as compile and analyze financial records.
• Locate and obtain court files and other public documents, utilizing your research skills to gather critical information.
• Assist attorneys in preparing documentary evidence, including charts and exhibits, to communicate findings effectively.
• Maintain organized files for use at hearings and ensure that evidence is properly stored and handled.
• Testify at disciplinary hearings regarding financial transactions, witness interviews, and related matters, demonstrating expertise and professionalism.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as forensic accounting or a related discipline.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings clearly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to interact professionally with staff, hearing committees, witnesses, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Pro, with experience working in fast-paced environments and adapting to changing circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Public Accountant, Certified Forensic Accountant, or Certified Fraud Examiner credential, demonstrating expertise in forensic accounting and investigation.
• Familiarity with digital evidence organization and presentation, as well as experience using investigative research software platforms.

This role offers a competitive salary, ranging between $60,000 and $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
