Job Summary:

As a Medical Transporter at Providence Health & Service, you will be responsible for transporting patients safely and efficiently within our healthcare facilities. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients to and from various locations within the hospital, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and diagnostic areas.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during transport, using proper lifting techniques and equipment as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure smooth transitions and minimize delays.
  • Maintain a clean and organized transportation area, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in healthcare or transportation preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull stretchers as needed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with hospital software systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare or transportation, with a focus on patient care and safety.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and patient confidentiality.
