Job Description

As a Truck Sales Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the sales process by contacting customers and prospects to identify potential sales opportunities. You will maintain a database of existing customers and sales prospects, assist truck salespeople with quotes and filing, and work with customers and prospects when salespeople are unavailable. Your tasks will also include organizing and maintaining used truck files, entering specifications and pictures on the company website, and assisting the Sales Manager with direct mail pieces and advertising.

Essential Position Functions and Principal Accountabilities
  1. Contact customers and prospects to identify potential sales opportunities for new trucks, used trucks, and trailers.
  2. Maintain a database of existing customers and sales prospects.
  3. Assist truck salespeople with preparing sales quotes and filing and tracking sales assistance.
  4. Work with customers and prospects that come to the dealership when salespeople are out of the office or occupied with other tasks.
  5. Help rental customers pick up vehicles when the rental manager is unavailable.
  6. Organize and maintain used truck files on the dealership's computer database.
  7. Enter specifications and pictures of used truck inventory on the company website.
  8. Assist the Sales Manager in gathering information for direct mail pieces and advertising.
Marginal Job Tasks
  1. Appraise used trucks for trade-in value when truck sales personnel or management are unable to perform this task.
  2. Travel to visit customers in their place of business to facilitate the sales process.
  3. Assist with sales and marketing activities such as surveys, direct mailers, and trade shows.
  4. Deliver new and used trucks to customers with salespeople.
  5. Maintain new and used truck lot appearance, ensuring trucks are staged properly and presentable.
  6. Help coordinate trucks through service or rig-up.
  7. Ensure all sales brochures are up-to-date, available, and displayed.
Contact Information

You will work closely with members of the Executive Team, Leadership Team, General Managers, and Sales Team.

Education Requirements
  1. A minimum high school diploma with relevant experience is required.
  2. Must have at least 2 years of retail sales experience, preferably with heavy-duty or medium-duty truck experience.
  3. Ability to manage multiple priorities, commit to company core values, possess good oral and written communication skills, and adequate mathematical skills to prepare sales quotes and analyze market data.
  4. Special skills include general computer operation, interaction, and communication with customers and prospects.
  5. Physical demands include tilting the hood of a truck, climbing into the cab or onto the frame to demonstrate or appraise its value.
