**Job Summary**
The Senior Food Preparation Specialist is responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of food in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Schedule and assign daily work activities to staff and supervise the completion of tasks.
- Train and guide staff on job duties, standard food safety and sanitation procedures, cooking methods, and other relevant topics.
- Cook and prepare food following production guidelines and standardized recipes.
- Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
- Safely use all food utensils, including knives.
- Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, and other kitchen appliances.
- Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods on meats, vegetables, and other foods.
- Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines.
- Properly store food by following food safety policies and procedures.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Maintain excellent customer service with a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, and coworkers.
- Follow Aramark safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
- Produce and maintain work schedules and may prepare production records.
**Requirements**
- Previous supervisor experience in a related role is preferred.
- Experience as a cook or related role is required.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision is required.
- Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations, such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage.
- Food safety certification is required.
- Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
This role may have physical demands, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
