Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Hand Therapy department by preparing treatment areas, assisting patients, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Hand Therapy treatment areas by following established protocols and procedures.
  • Assist patients with preparing for treatment, including welcoming, comforting, and escorting them to treatment areas.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and Hand Therapists, addressing questions and concerns as needed.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering them to treatment areas.
  • Ensure the operation of Hand Therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Perform various clerical tasks, such as scheduling appointments and monitoring inventory levels.
  • Participate in developing department goals and objectives to support the organization's mission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as familiarity with occupational or physical therapy concepts.
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Office products and electronic health records.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid Mississippi driver's license and ability to travel to various clinic locations.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with no remote work options. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent customer service to patients and colleagues.
