Salary: $61,500 - $84,600 annually (based on experience)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Engineer II to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production of millimeter-sized assemblies to be used for experiments on the OMEGA and OMEGA EP laser systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with scientific staff to determine feasibility of design and characterization requirements.
  • Coordinate with primary and third-party vendors to acquire components.
  • Manage multiple experimental campaigns at once to meet deadlines.
  • Document record systems for accuracy and content and amend procedures to improve yield, efficiency, and quality of the product.
  • Construct components into assemblies and measure the final product to ensure it meets specifications.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree in a scientific or related discipline and a minimum of two or more years of experience in a scientific or technical field. Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present results to a limited internal audience.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design software such as SolidWorks.
