The Student Success Coach role at Iowa Western Community College is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of current students. As a key member of the Advising and Enrollment Services team, you will play a vital role in helping students clarify their academic and career goals, while providing guidance on registration, financial aid, and personal well-being.

Responsibilities include:

  • Advise Current Students: Provide holistic support to students within assigned clusters of programs, addressing areas such as academics, financial aid, account balances, career exploration, and personal wellbeing.
  • Schedule Meetings: Meet with students for advising appointments in-person, over the phone, or via Zoom meetings, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate actively in the College Success Advising team during meetings, providing timely feedback and contributing to campus-wide events and campaigns.

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to articulate in various settings
  • Strong organizational skills, including multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and managing time effectively
  • Excellent customer service skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, with enthusiasm and dedication to helping others
  • A positive attitude, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
