Salary and Benefits

Job Description

This onsite, full-time position provides an opportunity for direct care experience working side by side with our talented staff, reporting directly to the Women's Campus Program Manager. The Homeless Support Advocate will:

  • Provide crisis intervention, assessment, advocacy, and service linkages for residents presenting with behavioral health concerns.
  • Offer in-home services based on individualized needs, facilitating house meetings, creating shared-housing agreements, and ensuring all basic needs are met.
  • Maintain timely and well-organized records, including input in HMIS systems.
  • Collaborate with Volunteer Manager and Development Team to plan special events, such as therapeutic programming and in-kind donation drives.
  • Conduct outreach calls and suitability screenings for new program applicants.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other agencies and represent Homeless Solutions in a positive manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, such as chronically homeless individuals, those with co-occurring disorders, and domestic violence survivors.
  • Knowledge of Morris County social service resources and affordable housing resources is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of administrative functions and Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
