Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our mission to deliver exceptional patient experiences.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or other assigned supervisor.
- Collect data through observation and communicate information to assist in patient assessment and care planning.
- Participate as a member of the healthcare team and accept delegation from the RN/assigned supervisor and provider in meeting the needs of the patient/family.
- Deliver care in accordance with the patient care plan, policies and procedures of the organization, and principles of relationship-based care.
- Possess excellent communication skills, be skillful in mentoring and instructing, and may participate on committees or projects, including quality improvement projects.
- Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program.
- If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of LPN experience working in an applicable setting is required.
- One year LPN experience within the last five years preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
- Must obtain prior to start date: Current LPN license by applicable state requirements.
- Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.
- We will only accept certificates of course completion from the following providers: American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers or BLS Provider), Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers), Military Training Network.
